Experience the excitement and energy of 4-H Milwaukee County!
The annual 4-H Junior Fair will take place on Saturday, September 22nd at Summit Place. If you are not a member of 4-H, no problem! The event is an Open House for the community to get a taste of what 4-H has to offer. There will be a variety of fun, hands-on and educational things to do for youth and families. Some of those activities will include a STEM Olympics, crafts, games, and a parade of Champions for the top winners of the Junior Fair. Activities will be ongoing from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., with the Parade of Champions at 2:15 p.m.
Throughout the year, youth in 4-H create and complete hands-on projects such as archery, horse models, arts and crafts, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, math). Through their participation, youth learn a spectrum of skills. Not only do youth gain knowledge of that specific project, but they also develop life skills such as leadership, teamwork, problem solving, and self-motivation in the process.
Junior Fair is an opportunity for youth in 4-H to be recognized for the skills and knowledge they acquired throughout the year. The youth enter projects and displays into the fair, and talk to judges about their experience. Judges provide scores based on what the youth learned from the process, and youth are awarded ribbons. Judging will take place on Friday, September 21st at Summit Place. Youth projects will be displayed during the fair on September 22nd.
