Horticulture Help Line

Photo of leaf with yellow spots from cedar apple rustIf you live in Milwaukee County, call to discuss your plant health questions with UW-Extension horticulturists and Master Gardeners.  During the Winter months the Horticulture Helpline will not be staffed. Services will still be available for our residents either by phone or via e-mail.  Our email is PlantHealth.advisors@ces.uwex.edu and the phone number for the Horticulture Help Line is 414-615-0515.

You can call (414) 615-0515 and leave a message which will be responded to within 1 – 2 business days  Provide as much information as you can.  Please leave your phone number and/or e-mail address for us to contact you.  Email would be preferred especially if you want to attach pictures of the plant you want help with.  You can also go to the UW Horticulture website at http://hort.uwex.edu and click on “Ask the Experts”.

Plant and insect samples can be taken to the Milwaukee County Extension Office at 6737 W Washington St, STE 2202, West Allis, 53214, Monday through Friday, 8am – 11:30am. We encourage people to first make contact with us by phone or e-mail before bringing in a sample. The vast majority of plant questions can be answered without a sample. If it is determined that a sample is necessary, arrangements to supply one can be made.  Fees are $4 per sample for Milwaukee County residents or $10 per sample for non-county residents and we ask that you provide as much information about the sample as you can.  We have forms that you will need to fill out.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
