Health Insurance Options for You and Your Family

Health Insurance Marketplace’s Open Enrollment Period Ends December 15

Many people have questions about the future of health insurance in the United States. It is important to know that options still remain available for the 2018 calendar year. This includes coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace (also known as “Obamacare”).

However, the time to sign up is running out. The Health Insurance Marketplace’s Open Enrollment Period ends on Friday, December 15, 2017. Consumers need to enroll or renew their coverage by December 15 to make sure their health insurance begins on January 1, 2018.

Financial help is available for many people who sign up for a Marketplace plan. Eight out of ten people qualify for financial help and most people sign up for a plan that costs $100 a month or less. We encourage people to make appointments with a local enrollment assister to make sure they pick a plan that fits their budget and covers their providers, medicines, and important health care services.

Anyone can dial 2-1-1, text their zip code to 898-211, or go to coveringwi.org/enroll to find free, local assistance in applying for health insurance coverage.
