4-H School and After School Clubs
4-H School Clubs and 4-H Afterschool Clubs
4-H partners with schools and youth serving organizations to offer programs during the school day or after. 4-H Classroom Clubs/Afterschool clubs allow students to explore one or multiple interest areas and have a flexible structure that is designed collaboratively to fit the partner site’s preferences.
The basic requirements to have a school/after school club include:
- At least 1 adult from the site to be the club lead. This can be a staff member, parent, or volunteer.
- Space for the club to meet.
- Five or more youth, from at least three or more families.
- Meet a minimum of six hours per year.
- Incorporate youth-adult partnerships and youth voice into the club structure.
4-H staff will support the club and provide guidance, training for the adult lead, curriculum, resources (when available), and assistance where needed.
